Screening

In the first interview, confidentiality, practical information and expectations are discussed. A screening of problems and protective factors is also performed.

In the next interviews, tools for resilience and empowerment are provided. The tools are evidence-based and in line with the latest knowledge and research.

Dr. Theodora A. Thoroddsen
- background and education

Dr. Thoroddsen has always been passionate about improving health and well-being. As a result, she acquired extensive knowledge from universities both in Iceland and abroad, with a holistic approach in mind. She has also attended numerous courses and conferences related to health and wellness, and is trained in nutritional science and personal training. The results of her research have been published and she has received awards and grants for her work.

Dr. Thoroddsen previously worked as a research fellow at City, University of London, where she organized a large clinical trial of a new treatment for self-harm among young people in emergency departments across the city. For the past two years, she has worked at Árborg Municipality providing consultation to young people with multifaceted problems and their parents, with an emphasis on early-stage interventions. She has also delivered a number of presentations on the subject in both Árborg and Reykjavík.

Dr. Thoroddsen runs a practice in Reykjavík and provides youth, parent and individual consultations in both Icelandic and English.

The practice is situated on the 3rd floor and unfortunately has no elevator access.
